NGC 7000, also known as the North America Nebula, is a large and prominent emission nebula located in the constellation Cygnus, about 1,600 light-years away from Earth. It resembles the shape of North America, which is how it got its name. The nebula spans approximately 50 light-years across and is part of a larger star-forming region. Its bright, colorful appearance is due to the ionization of hydrogen gas by nearby hot young stars, particularly the star HDE 227018.
